'Trippy Kerala' begins in the pretty backwaters and fishing villages of Alleppey, where our cycling routes will give you an up-close view of the wonderful people and fishing life in the region. Later, the boathouse experience on the vast expanse of the Vembanad lake waters is sure to be another unforgettable memory from this tour. You will then make your way up to Kuttikanam and then on to Vagamon, where you will begin to see the Western Ghats resplendent in their green cover. The campsite in Ramakkalmedu will leave you breathless, and not just because of the ride up the hill to get there.

While being an exciting standalone itinerary, 'Trippy Kerala' is often segment 1 of a unique 3-segment itinerary, coursing through the breadth of southern India from Allepey in the West to Dhanushkodi in the East. This coast-to-coast epic journey presents south India in its many hues, cultures, landscapes and diverse, intriguing history. The itinerary includes cycling, trekking, camping, wildlife spotting and visits to various cultural and historical sights, providing an immersive and untainted experience that the discerning traveller will appreciate. Expect an experience of a lifetime!

Itinerary

'Trippy Kerala' spans 4 nights and 5 days (including transits), with ~170 km of riding (with a total elevation gain of ~2000 m) in Alleppey, Vagamon and Ramakkalmedu.

Day 1:

Report at the meeting point in Aleppey by 6 pm
Overnight stay at a homestay

Day 2:

Breakfast at the homestay
Alleppey backwaters bike ride (35 km, 150 m elevation gain)
Boathouse trip with lunch, in Vembanad Lake
Transfer to Kuttikanam
Overnight stay at a resort

Day 3:

Breakfast at the resort
Ride to Vagamon (40 km, 650 m), lunch enroute
Optional ~20 km off-road riding in a plantation that's nestled in the forests
Overnight stay in a campsite within the plantation in Vagamon

Day 4:

Breakfast at the campsite
Ride from Vagamon to Ramakkalmedu (65 km, 1200m), lunch enroute
Overnight stay in a picturesque campsite atop Ramakkalmedu

Day 5:

Breakfast at the campsite
Tour/segment ends here. Participants will depart from Ramakkalmedu
