Ride a bicycle or walk at the edge of Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, between farmlands, by a gurgling canal. We’ll help you open up all your senses to the natural world and hear interesting stories about birds and trees. If we’re lucky, we’ll spot hornbills and weaver-bird nests!
Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary is a collection of small islands on the banks of the Cauvery river. A wetland site of international importance, it is visited by hundreds of species of birds, many of which fill the trees with nests. The sanctuary is set amidst quiet farmlands and rambling mud paths perfect for the nature-loving cyclist. At dawn and dusk, you could simply stop, look up and see a majestic bird in the sky. And as you cycle by a canal, you might see a red-billed bird walking just ahead of you, calling out confidently, "Did you do it?" "Did you do it?"
