The Avalahalli State Forest near Yelahanka is perfect for trail riding and learning the basics of handling a mountain bike. There are fairly long stretches of single track and double track, with lots of green cover all through. There are also a couple of rocky, technical sections for the adrenaline junkies out there. Expect to see many peacocks and a whole lot of other local fauna.
We will organise a brief mountain biking workshop for those interested to acquire trail riding skills. From body posture and techniques for climbing and descending, and effective braking habits, to tackling loose surfaces off-road terrain and riding off the saddle, expect lessons on a verity of mountain biking skills. You can then ride across the forest practicing what you have learnt.
This is graded as a Moderate (Level-2) ride not for the distance or endurance aspects, but because of the tricky sections on the trail where riders can push their limits. There will be a Level-1 group too who are relatively new to riding trails, so they will cover the easier trails in the periphery of the forest.
